This summer’s gothic Dungeons and Dragons Online expansion now has an official name: The Chill of Ravenloft. This follow-up to 2017’s Mists of Ravenloft includes the undead Dhampir race, the Dark Bargainer iconic class, a new Mysterious Alchemist Drossheart hireling, and movement styles. The expansion went into wider testing this week on the Lamannia server.

Play DDO for freeHorror site Bloody Disgusting got the full summary of the expansion, saying, “Exploring classic Gothic Horror, The Chill of Ravenloft is set in the frosty realm of Lamordia, which is cursed to be trapped in an endless winter. Famine threatens the land. The people are counting on the inventions of the brilliant Dr. Viktra Mordenheim to save them. Yet Dr. Mordenheim hides a sinister secret, a secret which the players must uncover to thwart the land’s curse. Their journey will lead them to fight greedy graverobbers, mad scientists, strange monsters, and Dr. Mordenheim’s own chilling creations in a decaying, snow-bound industrial city.”

DDO issued Update 73.4 on Wednesday with balance changes for ranged classes, adjustments to monster and henchmen AI, and “The Other Impossible Case is now less possible.”

Over in sister game LOTRO, Update 44.2.1 emerged on Wednesday with some fixes to the 64-bit clients that was causing twice-a-week restarts.
