Destiny 2’s Edge of Fate isn’t even out yet, but already Bungie is retuning it ahead of its July release, as some adjustments for the looter shooter that were previewed in a test build are already being walked back.Play Destiny 2
The primary point of contention among many players was related to certain prismatic subclass powers, which were slated to have just one fragment slot that powers them up where previously they had two or three. After a whole lot of grumpy feedback, the studio has elected to adjust its line of thinking.
In summary, while certain prismatic powers are still slated for adjustment, including plans for buffs in some cases, the previewed aspects at the heart of the arguments will now instead have two slots instead of just one. “We feel this is a good middle ground where some of the more potent aspects are being tuned down, but not too much,” the statement from Bungie reads. “Of course, we’ll be playtesting this change internally before The Edge of Fate launch as well to make sure it’s the right decision.”
Furthering the buildcraft forethinking is the shooter’s weekly newsletter, which is absolutely gushing with Edge of Fate previews that cover ability changes, gear updates, and stat details that will be landing with the expansion. The post also talks about adjustments to exotic armor drop rates that seek to let players get to the stats they’re looking for. It all gets pretty deep in the weeds, but if you’re the kind of person who stares unblinking at every number that surrounds your Guardian, it’s likely worth the full read.
