Tencent’s MMORPG Tarisland has apparently awakened from its intermittent slumber to plot some minor festivities for its anniversary. Yes, time flies: Tarisland officially launched a year ago back on June 21st, 2024.
“Dear Adventurers, thank you for being with us every step of the way! To celebrate the wonderful journey we’ve shared, the Community Anniversary Events are now live! Rally your allies and return to Tarisland to relive the glory that belongs to us all[.]”
We don’t know about reliving any glory, but it looks as if there’s a 50% off sale through June 22nd and a request for themed screenshots in exchange for gift and emblem packs. There isn’t actually any content or an in-game event, mind you.
MOP’s Chris checked in on Tarisland a month ago for our long-running Whatever Happened To column, pointing out that the last patch arrived in March and was rather tiny; the slow-drip of Tencent communication, lack of new content, and lack of warm bodies in the game itself all had players worried about the future of the MMO. It doesn’t seem as if this occasion will change the mood.
