Say hello to Lord of the Rings Online’s new Midsummer Festival that’s sending you to the brand-new tropical island of Furtherholm! LOTRO officially kicked off this year’s Midsummer Festival today, inviting all players onto this island for new quests and updated rewards through July 8th: “Located in the Shield Isles off the coast of Umbar in the Bay of Belfalas, a crew of freebooters have retired from a life at sea to open the island as a retreat for travellers from all parts of Middle-earth. Come enjoy the sun and surf and collect rewards for lending a hand!”Play LOTRO for free
Players who loved the old festival in Minas Tirith will still find all the old content waiting for them, as well, so this is less a replacement and more an addition. A wedding and a vacation! As usual, LOTRO fan site Fibrojedi has a full and complete guide to the event to help you find your footing.
Over on the Bullroarer test server, SSG is putting part of Update 45: Allies and Adversaries through its paces. Specifically, the studio is testing some of the backend changes for the upcoming kinship refresh and a bunch of improvements and adjustments for the Ettenmoors PvP zone. Note that the Hunter and Burglar class changes are not part of this testing cycle.
