Fallout 76’s Gone Fission update and 21st season have arrived with fishing content and a janky

I’m contractually obligated to adore the name of the latest Fallout 76 patch because I have had a City of Heroes characters named “Gone Fission” for many years. It’s the perfect name for a radioactive fisherwoman, and therefore it’s also perfect for Fallout 76’s fishing update.

“Available free for all Fallout 76 players, this fin-tastic update brings the highly anticipated, relaxing summer pastime to the Wasteland – fishing,” Bethsoft says. “Players can look forward to exploring places to cast out around Appalachia as well as a questline to secure their first Fishing Rod and a school of new in-game content and rewards. Casting out in tandem is Season 21: Gone Fission. This season comes with new fishing challenges, which when completed reward players with fishing rod upgrades and scaly new C.A.M.P. items.”

The official landing page for the update also teases the neon “Gone Fission” sign, a ramshackle houseboat, dead fish decor, and even a collab with Bethsoft’s DOOM: The Dark Ages.
