Now that the bulk of Lord of the Rings Online’s community has likely made the journey from the old servers to the new 64-bit worlds, the question of what to do with the now-old 32-bit shards is increasing in intensity. Standing Stone Games hasn’t made a decision as to these yet but indicated that talk about their fate is going on behind the scenes.
Play LOTRO for free“I believe that we will evaluate the future of the 32-bit game worlds later this year,” the game’s community manager posted this week. “We want everyone to be on the 64-bit worlds, but there is also a world where if a 32-bit population remains high we can continue to support it. We’ll see what the end result is based on data. Just to be a bit clearer, though, we are also having discussions on this topic, and once we have more to share we will.”
In other news, LOTRO plans to activate its In Their Absence instance cluster on the Angmar and Mordor legendary realms this Wednesday, June 4th, for level 65 players.
