When Albion Online launches the Into the Depths update on June 30th, you had best believe that players will, in fact, be heading into the Depths. That’s kind of the title, but it also refers to the new Depths content that traps players in a dungeon filled with enemy-laden rooms. Players will have to survive enemies and a shrinking field of engagement while deciding whether to press on for greater rewards or head out with the loot they’ve already collected. Clearing rooms of enemies allows players to activate buffs, and of course players are encouraged to chase one another and engage in combat to try taking valuable loot from one another as they descend further into the depths.

“The Depths are a brand-new type of instanced PvP dungeon,” Sandbox Interactive explains. “Aimed at groups of 2-3 players, though daring solo players can join Once inside, all players are trapped for a limited, but undisclosed, period. There are three different levels within, with greater dangers and greater rewards as you go deeper. After a time, exits open. At this point you can decide whether to leave with your loot, or venture further in.” And you will because you like loot and killing dudes.

The official site also details the new Orange PvP ruleset – a sort of “bridge” to the game’s full-loot PvP system – and the Antiquarian’s Den hell-content hub; the video overview is below.
