The way players fight in Fallout 76 is soon going to change. Players might have heard that before considering Bethesda brought it up in the Gone Fission patch notes and also started the work with the Skyline Valley update, but the system is continuing to get adjustments in what the studio is calling “one of the largest numerical shifts” made to combat yet.

This sneak peek at the next round of tweaks includes a wide assortment of general and specific manual aim adjustments to things like reduced recoil and cone of fire, a rewriting of hit chance while in VATS to make it more consistent and intuitive, more damage for explosions, the final step of rebalanced perks, and several updates for melee and ranged weapon mods. There are also several lengthy lists for weapon damage, AP costs, ranges, and multipliers for sneak attack and crit, and some enemy updates are also on deck to compensate for all of the tweaks.

This next series of combat changes will be making their way to PTS at some point in the near future, along with the promise of additional announcements during testing and in future patches. Timing for PTS isn’t tied down yet, but there are plenty of granular details to dig in to in the meantime.
