MapleStory previews new character, new event, and boost worlds arriving June 11

Wednesday, June 11th, is going to be full of stars and the gazing upon them. Or at the very least it’s going to be full of content for MapleStory as the Stargazer update arrives to the side-scrolling MMO, bringing with it a bunch of celestial stuff. So you’re kind of gazing at stars in a roundabout way. Along with 11-digit damage numbers if a trailer is anything to go by.

Those numbers and stargazing things are all tied to the main attraction of the patch, the playable new character Sia Astelle, a mage character who calls upon the power of constellations to ramp up her attack power and chibi anime her way through her problems. Another tentpole feature is a limited-time Challenger World that lets players enjoy stat boosts and ramped-up XP earnings alongside a new Hyper Burning Max that blasts characters through the levels.

Speaking of events, June 11th will also launch a new Morning Star Banquet event that promises lots of lore among several baddies of the game, and a long list of quality-of-life updates like the ability to cast multiple skills in sequence with a single button press, UI updates, and world map fast travel among them.

Even more is promised in a follow-up patch in July as well, which will bring sixth job mastery nodes, the return of the Ride or Die event with some new rewards and mechanics, and a crossover event with the single-player RPG Dave the Diver.
