This past Friday, June 6th, marked the official 24th anniversary for World War II Online, which is no small feat for any game, let alone a plucky MMOFPS. Obviously that means it’s time to celebrate, and that’s just what developer Cornered Rat Software is going to be doing this weekend.

Players are being invited to hop into the game between now and June 8th in order to get the benefits of all-access membership for free as well as join in on a commemorative special operation this Sunday, June 8th.

The devs have also put together some messages of reflection about the milestone, and are considering having an in-person convention to mark the 25th anniversary next year; those who would be interested in going to such an event are being asked to fill out a survey. But for now, it’s party time on the battlefield.
