In response to one of our articles on Villagers and Heroes, MOP reader Wishful Maybe remarked on the game’s age, saying, “I still remember getting my first horse lol.” And you know, that sentence brought back so many memories for me, not specifically for V&H, but for MMOs in general. While many MMO players might not have gotten a mount until World of Warcraft (because a lot of early MMOs like EverQuest, Asheron’s Call, and Dark Age of Camelot didn’t have them), I have to go all the way back to Ultima Online when I got my very first horse from the stable master.

And the second horse. And the third. And the 50th. Yeah, so I wasn’t a tamer, and I lost a lot of horses. And llamas. And ostards… oh no.
