The 13th anniversary of the launch of the original incarnation of The Secret World is a few weeks away, and die-hard fans are planning another in-game event to celebrate.
The event is being organized by Catboiler, a Twitch streamer who has run previous fan anniversary celebrations, including the 10th anniversary event that got the anniversary world bosses reactivated. He plans a party in the Kingsmouth zone followed by PvP, dungeons, and other group content.
He also plans to launch an all-new fan-made ARG during the event, The Lost Broadcast: “A corrupted signal has been detected. A breadcrumb trail leading away from the familiar horrors of the world and into the digital shadows. It speaks of forgotten protocols and a prize for the one clever enough to decipher the noise.” A real world prize is promised to the one who can solve the mystery.
The event will run from 1 p.m. to 6 .p.m. EDT on Thursday, July 3rd, 2025.
Readers will recall that Funcom – yes, the Funcom that just launched Dune Awakening – hasn’t given the OG version of The Secret World any major updates since 2016 and hasn’t done much for its birthdays either, leaving the remaining players to fend for themselves. Last year, the studio merely posted a tweet to commemorate the occasion; perhaps this year will be different.
