As promised, Palia’s Radiant Rising update dropped for beta players yesterday afternoon, with a whole raft of content and quality-of-life revisions. Let’s tackle the content first: For players who haven’t purchased a courier pet – that is, the minipets that you can use to send your loot back to your home storage – there’s a brand-new quest line that’ll let you unlock the functionality for free, along with a robot pup pet that you’ll want regardless. We’re also getting six discovery quests in Elderwood, the Hunt for Prismbeard’s Treasure quest line, and the new jump-centric dynamic event:
“Starting today, players can bounce into Elderwood for a brand new dynamic event: Piksii Blossom Bounce! Players will know the event is beginning when the trees start sparkling blue, then they’ll be able to bounce across mushrooms in the lush tree canopy of the Elderwood to earn rewards, including the elusive Elderwood flower seeds.”
The patch also brings along new decor, expanded storage, giant UI loot pop-ups (please let us turn these off, S6!), an improved cooking UI, a revision to housing limits, and new plushies – including a plush that is a direct throwback to Free Realms’ mascot, Chatty.
“Ever since we announced Palia, we’ve had tons of players tell us that it reminds them of a very special game from back in the day called Free Realms,” Singularity 6 says. “Since launching, we’ve had a ton of players tell us that it brought some of that magic back for them. In honor of this, we’ve asked our friends over at Daybreak Game Company if we could put a little something from Free Realms into Palia. And as an homage to the current Palians who still have that love for their time in Free Realms, you might find a somewhat familiar face: Chatty the Plush.”
