Regular fans of Black Desert are very likely familiar with Illezra the White Witch – she’s the villain who basically set player characters off on their adventure in the MMORPG’s narrative. At long last, the battle against this long-standing baddie is live this week with the opening of the Final Gladios.Play Black Desert

Pearl Abyss tries to put as much gravitas on the encounter as possible, pointing it out as the final leg of the five year-long Atoraxxion story and the near-end of the MMO’s wider first story act, while the difficulty of the fight promises to be a test of wits and skill… or Black Shrine Calamity 10 to put it in more gameplay terms. The studio also points out that this is a solo challenge, so best of luck.

On top of the new boss fight, this week’s patch for PC players has brought on the first full ranked season for the Arena of Solare, added a new skill for the Deadeye class, added new items and adjustments for gathering on land and sea, and refined boss battles in other portions of the Atoraxxion delve, among many other updates.

Switching over to BDO Mobile, we find improvements for Black Sun and Night of Vengeful Souls instances such as decreases in point earnings when taking on easier targets, more roaming monsters, and updated rewards. The patch has also introduced a new stat-boosting soul stone gear item, another round of class tweaks, and a lineup of bug fixes.

BDO Console also saw a patch this week, which brings with it some more class updates, improvements to hunting and horse training, auto-fishing for the carrack ship, changes to material requirements for a variety of crafts, and node war updates.

Last but certainly not least, Black Desert fans are now able to pre-order a plushie version of the Black Spirit that constantly harangues player characters throughout the game. This squishy little guy sits at nine inches tall and will set you back $30, but pre-orders will only be available until June 24th, after which shipping will begin sometime in November. Luckily for us all it’s the cute version and not the one with the horror teeth.
