The end of the month once more brings another round of news from Elite: Dangerous studio Frontier Developments as its latest Frontier Unlocked livestream granted additional details for the upcoming Panther Clipper Mk2 cargo hauler, including its paid early access arrival date of Tuesday, July 22nd.
This supermassive space truck fields some astonishing slots, including a size eight power plant and thrusters, a size seven fuel tank, and 10 total weapon hardpoints across its hull. It will also introduce the ability to slot unique cargo racks that have 50% more cargo capacity than other similar internals, granting it the ability to haul an estimated 1200 to 1400 tons of cargo, depending on outfitting and which YouTube channel is doing the math.
As usual, the Clipper Mk2 will be sold first for real-world money on July 22nd in a standard and stellar version before it’s made available for in-game credits later, while FDev will also provide additional kit pieces for the internet spaceship and a Panther Clipper Owners Club decal that will be detailed later. Finally of note, the studio confirmed that the guild-centric Vanguards update is scheduled to arrive in early August.
